Throw me something mister!

Carnival parade participants are required by law to be masked and costumed. Our handmade costumes turned out to be a vision in gold, blue, and orange polyester. One advantage: beer washes right out of it. Here Cherub, Scott, and Nick bask in the glow of the crowd, dampened but undaunted by occasional drips of beer from partying fellow krewe members upstairs.

Hail Bacchus!

In uptown New Orleans Carnival season is all about balls. Each parade ends with a grand party. We got to put on our penguin suits for this year's Bacchus ball, thanks to our friends Michael and Don in the krewe of Bacchus. Headlining the party was Willie Nelson, who sang "Crazy" and other hits. You'd hardly recognize this as the now infamous New Orleans convention center.
