Is that not the best bumper sticker ever? I spotted it the other day and decided that I want it on my gravestone.
Summer used to be my favorite season. But around here there is a surplus of summer and a shortage of spring. So for now at least, spring is my favorite season. Lately we've been taking advantage of this gorgeous spring weather, touring plantation houses and countrysides. We visited two cute towns in Northern Louisiana, Nachitoches and St. Francisville. We spent one night in a haunted antebellum house called The Myrtles (I slept like a log), and visited John James Audubon's former studio at Oakley Plantation. One of the houses was in need of some love (I loved the patina). We also got the anthropological experience of a gospel service in a tiny church on the bank of the Mississippi. Funny how the further North you go in Louisiana the deeper in the South you seem to be.
