Na Pali Coast, Kauai:
Research is a picture and you get to paint it.

We finally got the opportunity to take this hike that I have aspired to for years.
The Nortwest coast of Kauai has some of the highest sea cliffs in the world. Red apapane birds flitted in the branches below us.
Hiking in warm rain, complete with rainbows.

We ran into an old friend, Seth, on this trail.
Quite a magical place.
World class, I'd say, on par with Big Sur or Brazil's Costa Verde.

Now taking bids for companions to compare this with the Rock Islands of Palau and Vietnam's Ha Long Bay.
Sorry, no images here of our Gauguin fantasy day frolicking in cascades.

We spent our final afternoon on this beach. We shared it with no one except a sleeping monk seal, an animal I never thought I would be lucky enough to see.
