Valmont Street, New Orleans

Notes on driving in the city now: Neighborhoods that you once found dark and scary are now far darker and scarier. If you thought the potholes were big before the storm, you ought to see them now. If you thought it was easy to get lost, it's a lot easier with so many signs missing or twisted in different directions. Downed stoplights? No problem, now practically every intersection is a four-way stop. Out past that midnight curfew? Just smile at the nice soldier and tell him you're on your way home.

It appears that these folks will have a new way of commuting when they return to their neighborhood, which is still without power.
